Bromp Treb:
Since 2002 Los Angeles-based artist Neil Young aka Neil ‘Cloaca’ Young has been performing and recording as Bromp Treb, a nonsense onomatopoeia for the rattling windows of a jalopy with an overenthusiastic subwoofer. Young’s sounds and performances are the sputterings of refined dysfunction and eager uncertainty, coaxed from an improvised maze of crooked rhythms and tangled textures made from voice/body, synthesis, tapes, percussion, with a faint whiff of physical comedy. Bromp Treb has many recordings in circulation and has performed at fancy-pants arts institutions and schools as well as countless basements, bars, lofts, living rooms, galleries and closets all around North America and Europe.
Nina Ryser:
Nina Ryser was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and has been based in Philadelphia, PA since 2015. Her interest in songwriting and DIY home recording started when she was very little with piano lessons and a Fisher Price tape recorder, and led to her path in composition and scoring for live performance and film, working with a variety of instruments and ensembles including the American Symphony Orchestra.
Nina's solo experimental synth-pop project has taken on many forms over the years, but at its core are lush synth compositions, drum machine, various electronics, and pop-leaning vocal melodies. She usually incorporates instrumental soundscapes and noisey interludes in her recordings and live sets. She has performed with a variety of bandmates over the years, who have played cello, bass, keyboard, and accordion, among many other instruments. She has toured throughout the US, opening for Kikagaku Moyo, The Space Lady and Kristine Leschper.
Street Rat:
A love and hatred for humanity and an embrace to nature. Always morphing and always growing. Street Rat is not a person but a visceral, intellectual, and spiritual exploration of the mysteries of life. Attempting to bring heavy concepts to your reality, it is the eye on the ground that sees and translates all intersecting issues as they merge, explode, dissolve, and implode. It is a way to comprehend, a way to cope, a way to feel, and a way to take action. Disrupt the status quo. Rebuild our path.
