Don’t miss the opening at Mary Baldwin University with celebrated oboist and composer Stephen Key, who will be joined by award-winning pianist Ryo Yanagitani.
A member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, is one of the most sought-after oboists of his generation. Currently Principal Oboe for the New Orchestra of Washington, he has also performed with the National Symphony, the Richmond Symphony, and the New World Symphony. He is also a prolific composer. This concert will feature one of his original works, along with other exciting selections for oboe and piano.
Hailed by the Washington Post as “A pianist’s pianist,” success includes winning the Gold Medal at San Antonio International Piano Competition, and he was also the Grant Prize Winner of the Hugo Kauder International Piano Competition.
The concert is Monday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Francis Auditorium. Don’t miss this exciting event!
