Home learners aged 13-17 can participate in this special, limited time program, Broken Promises, about the internment of Japanese Canadians in the 1940s. On Wednesday, May 22 from 10:00-11:30am, home learners aged 13-17 explore the feature exhibit Broken Promises, on loan from the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre. Learners will participate in a semi-guided tour of the exhibit, following different narrators. Then, they will take a closer look at some archival photographs from the time of the dispossession. A brief discussion and Discovery Sheet activity focuses on the Japanese Canadian experience in Nanaimo.
