Join a writing workshop to explore feelings and memories about rejection, job loss and redundancy. Author and poet Henrik Johansson will initiate writing exercises and discussions about how we react when we find ourselves on the outside. Being turned down, rejected, or losing assignments is a part of work life, but for many it is stressful and can lead to loneliness and mental ill-health. Writing down and sharing your thoughts with others can create a sense of community, belonging, and meaning. Writing down and talking about feelings of rejection and loss together with others can help clear the mind. It can be a way not only to handle what has been difficult but also to be better prepared for future challenges.For participants who wish, there is an opportunity to submit texts to Henrik. He will select some of the submitted pieces for further editing and possible publication in some form, digital or physical, but there is absolutely no requirement to do so in order to participate. The Dream Factory is a project dedicated to the collective sharing and writing about the consequences of rejection, redundancy and closure.
All levels are welcome, just bring a pen and paper (or a laptop) and a willingness to write.
The workshop is free of charge and will be in English but you write in any language you like.

Henrik Johansson (b. 1973) is a award winning author, educator and translator, based in Malmö. After ten years in the restaurant business he quit and started writing instead. A lot of his work is centered around work and class.
