King Street Raj is the oldest Indian Restaurant in Bristol and was opened by the current owner, Hasan Ahmed's father, Feroze over 40 years ago. Feroze also opened the first Indian Restaurant in the South West in 1958 and was a race activist, taking part in the Bristol Bus Boycott of 1963. His well-known granddaughter, Mya-Rose Craig AKA Birdgirl, takes after Feroze as a race and envionmental activist.
