Brisbane, AUS - Spinning Babies® Workshop w/ Jenny - Feb 9-10, 2023

I am an Australian Birthworker delighted to bring this Spinning Babies®️ 2 day workshop to the Northern Rivers area of NSW. We welcome midwives, doulas, birth educators, chiropractors, doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, pregnancy bodyworkers, acupuncturists, prenatal yoga instructors, myo-fascial therapists, and alternative care-providers who assist women in pregnancy and childbirth. The workshop will be filled with easy-to-integrate information, and hands-on practice. We intend to help participants feel confident in how to apply the Spinning Babies®️ approach, so that they can better help birthing families in the community, or in clinical and hospital settings.

Spinning Babies® begins with fetal rotation to reveal the lesser known physiology of birth anatomy. Your passion; our approach. Start seeing solutions in labor progress with this new lens on childbirth. After this workshop you will be able to:

• Facilitate comfort in pregnancy and ease in childbirth for your clients
• Improve fetal position without manipulation of the fetus
• Identify issues faster
• Take gentle action to shorten a long labor or avoid a cesarean
• Use less (or no) force to resolve malposition and labor dystocia

Spinning Babies® Three Principles[SM]. Three Balances[SM], and Pelvic Levels Solutions[SM] offers the world’s first complete system of birth preparation and labor ease concepts using baby’s position. Physiological techniques change the effective size of the pelvis through the body’s own innate capacity to resolve or prevent labor dystocia.

Who may attend: We welcome all professionals who serve people in their pregnancy and birth.  Ideal for: midwives, nurses, nurse practitioners, family practice doctors, doulas and childbirth educators. Also attended by obstetricians, prenatal yoga instructors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, perinatal case managers, and community health workers. It is recommended for people new to Spinning Babies®️, as well as those reading the website for years.

Continuing Education: Maternity House Publishing, Inc. (dba Spinning Babies®) is accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). This activity has been awarded 7 contact hours through ANCC.

Many doula and childbirth education organizations accept these contact hours; check your organization’s policies. Continuing professional education credits may not be available for this workshop.

Details: Tea and refreshments will be provided in breaks. You can BYO lunch or eat a a selection of cafes very close by.

Parking is available in and around the area of the venue. Please wear loose comfy clothing. Extra massage tables are welcome.

Please do not attend the workshop if you are unwell with flu like symptoms. There will be hand sanitizers, soap, and gloves available to attendees. BYO mask if you wish to wear one or if it is mandatory at the time.

Cancellation policy: Registrants for events cancelled by the Approved Trainer will receive a full refund. In the event of cancellation, neither the Approved Trainer nor Spinning Babies® is responsible for refunding travel expenses. Weather, natural disaster, illness or other “Acts of God” or government are reasons an Approved Trainer may cancel. Believe us, we don’t want to cancel!! If you are called to a birth on the morning of the event, you can receive a full refund or give your place to a friend. If you are unwell and cannot attend, you can receive a refund. Please give notice so that someone on the waiting list may receive a place.

Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodations, and related expenses and Spinning Babies® is unable to refund these expenses.

About the Trainer: Jenny has been an independent birthworker, birth educator, and bodyworker since 1980, supporting women and families through natural birth at home. Her birthwork focuses on cultivating body awareness, self-help skills and self-responsibility - to realize potential in birth and reduce trauma for mothers, parents, the baby and care providers. Her bodywork practice specializes in pelvic bodywork for wellbeing, balance, comfort and healing. Jenny has been teaching body-oriented Birthwork workshops to professionals, bodyworkers and parents for over 15 years, both in Australia and overseas, co-teaching with Fiona Hallinan for the ‘Creative Ways of Making Space for Babies’ Workshop Series. Jenny is also project co-ordinator for Lao Birthwork, teaching hands-on and emergency skills to health staff in remote areas of Northern Laos. She lives in the Australian bush with her partner. They are parents of 3 grown adults and have 3 grandchildren. Advanced Offerings: The Spinning Babies® Workshop is required before taking any further trainings, such as Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator Training or Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner Workshop.

Further training is available for eligible participants which does lead towards a contractual relationship for listing or certification and use of Spinning Babies® brand and name.
