Bringing Legitimacy to "AI Sovereignty"
About this Event
Conversations surrounding technology or digital sovereignty tend to be very shallow. Who decides what technologies we integrate into our daily lives? On what basis should we be integrating or replacing systems with a product?
Descriptions of these technologies, products, and the harms or benefits they extend into the world are easy to find. Discussions of what we should do instead are scarce.
We aim to begin filling this gap.
Whether you're a technologist, researcher, policymaker, or just a concerned resident, this workshop will help you understand the role of legitimacy in discussions of "AI" and "Digital Sovereignty." We hope every attendee, regardless of their background, leaves the workshop with an understanding of sovereignty and legitimacy, as well as some strategies and tools for how we can make the tech in our lives more legitimate even as individuals.
