Hi Everyone,Sunday, Auguust 24th, Michael Berletich and I are again offering a one-day class on the teishin and enshin, this time with a focus on “Bringing It All Together.” What we mean by this title is the teaching of a complete supine-prone kata (form) using both tools. It will be a form, but a loose one that allows for flexibility.
In our previous two classes we have focused on presenting various techniques with these classical tools. Those who have been in one or both these classes have the necessary tools to conduct a full treatment. Newcomers will be able to get up to speed in the morning session.
What might the treatment look like?
1) Assessments and interview; this information should provide a possible treatment focus, e.g., an elemental weakness
2) Treatment of abdomen with both teishin and enshin (various techniques can be used)
3) ST Qi line treatment (ST 36, 37, 39) with teishin, possibly following the enshin being used to stroke (and thus open) the ST channel below the knee
4) Treatment with the teishin of the yin channel that showed itself to be the weakest in the assessment— usually the source point is chosen, but the channel could also be palpated for its weakest point
5) Treatment of SCM-scalenes-supraclavicular fossa with teishin and enshin; also face and scalp
6) Possible local treatment at this point for the CC, depending on its location
7) “Opening” the back with light teishin work; if the CC is back pain, then follow with PNST technique (aka yang teishin)
8) Use of “Skin Sotai” in upper back and lower back, with or without the teishin.
9) If the enshin was not used to tap the abdomen, it can be used now on the lumbar area
10) Treatment of the gastric, either with teishin or Neuro-Ban (PNST tool)
11) Possible inclusion here of branch treatment for the CC (Michael and I can help here with ideas)
12) Turn back over and reevaluate the initial assessments
The morning will focus on reviewing these skills (or meeting them for the first time, as the case may be). In the afternoon, we will partner up in triads and each person will receive a 45-minute treatment. The third person in the triad will monitor pulse and other changes, as well as being available for suggestions and reminders. So, in the end you will have participated in two complete treatments, either as the direct person treating or as the one doing ongoing evaluation.
If you want to join, send an email to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). Payment of $185 can be sent to Venmo
