Bringing Beneficial Insects to the Vegetable Garden with Native Wildflowers

Join Dave Tomashefski from Meadow City Nursery to discover the power of planting native flowers to invite beneficial insects into your urban farm. In this practical agricultural workshop led by the folks at Meadow City Native Plant Nursery, we will explore which native plants best support pollinators like bees and predatory insects that control pests naturally. Learn how a combination of native flowers and other habitat features can sustain a resident population of these allies in your growing space. With the help of beneficial insects, we can enhance pollination and minimize pesticide use on urban farms throughout Greater Cleveland.
This workshop will begin indoors at The Treelawn, with a 45 minute presentation from Meadow City's educator, Dave Tomashefski. Then we'll take a 5 minute walk down to Meadow City's native garden for refreshments, inspiration, and Q&A.

**This event is outdoors on a working plant nursery where you will be surrounded by nature. Ground and terrain may be uneven. We recommend comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a hat.**
This workshop will take place rain or shine. In cases of extreme weather, we will contact you 24-36 hours prior to the event if we need to cancel.
