Scottish Terrier lovers and WWII enthusiasts, come join us as we host, admission-free, the Inaugural “Stuka Day” on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 adjacent to Memorial Park, at The United States Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio from noon to 4:00 pm.
Note: this is an independent gathering at the park and not a Museum supported event.
A Scottish Terrier named "Stuka" was the mascot of the famed "Memphis Belle", the plane flown by Lt. Robert Morgan when he and nine others became the one of the first aircrews to complete twenty-five missions. The "Belle" is on permanent display in the museum and has displays of news clippings of "Stuka".
Bring your Scotties (registration required) to enjoy an army of Scotties and share with the public your stories of ownership. There will be some presentations, a Scottie Parade, other activities and a few giveaways.
AND, the Museum Special Events Team has arranged for all to be able to enter the Museum when it closes to the public at 5:00pm for a brief PHOTO SHOOT of everyone and their little "Stukas" at the base of the Memphis Belle herself! They are making an after-hours exception to the 'service dog' requirement for this.
