Capture a Memory of Brighton in Miniature
Join us at Liberation Art Gallery for a relaxed and creative collage workshop celebrating the places, memories, and moments that make Brighton special.
Whether Brighton is your home, a favourite holiday destination, a place you've visited with loved ones, or somewhere filled with personal memories, this workshop invites you to capture your connection to the city through collage.
Using a postcard-sized format, you'll create a unique artwork inspired by Brighton's iconic seafront, colourful beach huts, winding Lanes, bustling cafés, sunsets over the sea, or a special memory of your own.

✂️ What You'll Create
Working with a range of papers, textures, images, colours, and mixed-media materials, you'll build a layered collage that tells a story about your Brighton.
Your postcard might feature:
- A favourite view of the beach or pier
- Memories of wandering through The Lanes
- Seagulls, sea life, and coastal colours
- A family holiday or day trip
- A meaningful place or moment in the city
- An imagined Brighton inspired by colour and feeling
No artistic experience is needed—this workshop is about creativity, storytelling, and enjoying the process.
🌿 Wellbeing Through Creativity
Collage is a wonderfully accessible art form that encourages mindfulness, reflection, and play. Working with images, textures, and colour allows us to revisit positive memories, celebrate meaningful places, and express ourselves without worrying about drawing or painting skills.
This workshop offers a welcoming space to slow down, connect with others, and create something personal.

- Your finished Brighton postcard artwork to take home
- An optional add-on frame for just £5 to frame and protect your artwork
- Feel free to bring your own papers from home - whether it's a magazine or a meaningful photo, our host will guide you into incorporating this into your artwork.

About Liberation Art Gallery
At Liberation Art Gallery CIC, we aim to create an inclusive and relaxing environment for all our workshop participants. Feel free to bring your own refreshments, and we are BYOB friendly to enjoy during your session, making your experience even more comfortable and sociable. Our gallery also provides toilet and handwashing facilities, ensuring convenience and ease throughout your visit. With all workshop materials and tools provided, this setup allows you to fully enjoy your creative experience without worrying about additional costs, so you can focus entirely on making art and having fun.

By joining our workshops and events, you’re not only nurturing your own creativity but actively helping us deliver free and low-cost art therapy, outreach projects, and wellbeing initiatives to those who need it most.
Cancellation Policy:
We understand.that plans can change, and we do our best to be fair whilst protecting the sustainability of our workshops.
- Cancellations or date changes must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled.workshops
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop or non attendance on the day are non-refundable
- As a good-will gesture, we are happy to to offer a transfer to a future workshop of equal value subject to availability when at least 48 hours notice is given
- Workshop credits must be used within 3 months of the original workshop date and cannot be exchanged for cash
- We are unable to offer refunds or workshop transfers for same-day cancellations. As materials, artist fees and staffing are already commited.
