Brighton CO - Specified Semiautomatic Firearms Class (12-Hour) CHP ELIGIBLE
About this Event
Colorado's new semi-automatic firearms purchase law takes effect August 1, 2026 — and Lionheart is bringing the required safety course to Brighton.
Under Colorado SB 25-003, most semi-automatic firearm purchases will require proof that you've completed a state-approved, in-person firearms safety course. We're now forming our first classes, taught by a CPW FSP Certified Instructor right here at Lionheart Jiu Jitsu.
12-Hour Extended — $247, no hunter education required. Open to everyone. No Hunter's Ed Required.
If you have Hunter's Education, you want the 4-Hour course.

Both are in person and include a written exam and a hands-on practical (90% to pass). Once you pass, you're eligible to purchase for five years. Note: a Colorado CCW/CHP permit does not satisfy this requirement.
Open to students from every Colorado county. You'll get your Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card from your own county sheriff, then complete the class with us; we'll walk you through the entire process step by step.
CONCEALED HANDGUN PERMITS can be combined with this class since we cover most of the same material. At the end of class we will add the additional material CHP requires and then qualify you at our private range. If you want to do this it's an additional $50, but a huge time saver for you. This can cover either initial or renewal CHP class.
