Info: Dr Carin Tunaker is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Kent, specialising in social justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and homelessness. She co-chairs the university’s LGBTQ+ Staff Network and leads on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the Kent Law School. Her recent publications include work on queer utopias in housing and the intersections of LGBTQ+ identity and homelessness.

Dr Trude Sundberg is also based at the University of Kent. This presentation will draw from their collaborative research exploring the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ young people experiencing homelessness in the UK.

Info: Charlotte Rose is a medical student at Brighton and Sussex Medical School who has conducted original research exploring the feasibility and acceptability of using the interRAI Self-reported Assessment of Mental Health (SAMH) tool with adults experiencing homelessness. Her work examines whether SAMH could be adapted as a practical resource in frontline services to better capture mental health needs among people facing housing insecurity. Charlotte will present findings from her scoping study and discuss implications for future research and service development.
