About this Event
The Union League Club of Chicago, in partnership with the Latino Policy Forum, the Hispanic Federation, and the Chicago Bar Association, invites you to a timely and engaging luncheon discussion on Monday, October 13, 2025. This panel will examine the intersection of the moral imperatives associated with immigration policy and the legal complexities facing immigrants. These issues are critically significant in our current political landscape. Cardinal Cupich, a dedicated advocate for human dignity and social justice, will discuss the ethical and moral imperatives of immigration policy—issues of compassion, justice, and human rights. He will address the moral obligations we, as a society, owe to immigrants, regardless of their legal status. Mr. Heiderscheidt will discuss how legal frameworks define and limit immigration status.
This panel is designed to be a call for reflection, action, and a more humane approach to immigration policy. Following their initial remarks, the panelists will engage in a moderated discussion, allowing time for audience questions. Join us as we challenge assumptions, examine our shared responsibilities, and thoughtfully explore one of the most pressing issues of our time.
