About this Event

Report launch - Bridgebuilding: Nurturing democracy amid polarization, Lessons from Colombia

This event will launch the English translation of a report about bridgebuilding as a practice of bringing people together across difference. In the current moment of global concerns over polarisation, it's crucial to learn from existing experiences of this practice. This report presents findings of an ethnographic investigation about bridgebuilding in Colombia, part of the research project "Stories of Divided Politics: Polarization and Bridgebuilding in Colombia and Britain", based on 10 months of ethnographic fieldwork following four dialogue initiatives in Colombia. The report seeks to enrich debate about dialogue and bridgebuilding in Colombia as a key element of peacebuilding and depolarization, and offer lessons learned from Colombia to other divided societies, including Britain.
