Please join us for an entertaining circular walk from the garden at Newport Transporter Bridge to some marvellous meadows, discovering some amazing #stories from Gwent storyteller Christine Watkins. We have a great week of #summer weather ahead of us so why not top up your Vitamin D and wellbeing with a wander through the Gwent Levels landscape?To mark the traditional time of first harvest we will gather at the newly developing East Anchorage garden at Newport Transporter Bridge to hear the story of Demeter and Persephone amongst the raised wildflower meadow beds.
We’ll then walk to Great Traston Meadows, a traditionally managed grassland on the Wales Coast Path, to hear the tale of Hen Wen and the coming of the golden grain to Gwent. We’ll retrace our steps to conclude our walk back at the garden for the chance to take part in some small meadow management...
