Join us for a solo piano concert by Cincinnati pianist/educator Brianna Matzke. Admission is free.
Brianna Matzke specializes in collaborating with living composers on premieres of new works. She serves as Associate Professor of Music at Wilmington College (Ohio), President/CEO of the International Foundation for Contemporary Music, and Executive Director of the Cortona Sessions for New Music. Her commissioning initiative, The Response Project, asks composers and artists from many disciplines to create new works in response to a preexisting artwork or idea. “TREMOR” is a part of The Response Project and was curated as a response to essential tremor, her recently diagnosed neurological condition that makes her hands shake. Five composers (Matthew Evan Taylor, Molly Joyce, Hanna Benn, Forrest Pierce, and Adeliia Faizullina) have written solo piano works exploring the intersection between her physical reality and their own lived experiences of ability and disability.
