**Brianna Fulton Memorial Bursary Program – 6th Annual Fundraiser**This is the 6th annual fundraiser in memory of Brianna "Bubs" Fulton.
We wish to honor her passion for helping others and her dedication to making sure no one feels left out. Brianna was a person others looked to for help, support, and love. In her short time with us, she left a lasting positive impact on so many lives.
To continue her legacy, we have established the Brianna Fulton Memorial Bursary Program, which provides up to $1,000 per year for up to four (4) years to students graduating from a Calgary high school who are pursuing post-secondary education. Recipients must embody Brianna’s values of inclusion, generosity, and kindness.

**How We’ve Helped**
**2024:** Supported two students. One was part of the student council and helped with the Bell Let's Talk campaign, showing his commitment to mental health awareness. Another student volunteered with his family at the Mustard Seed on a regular basis. He stated that by giving back, he feels the spirit of love and community, which echoes Brianna’s own values of inclusivity and support.
**2023:** An incredible year where we were able to support four students. Three of them are in a four-year program with community involvement including church peer youth council, City of Calgary Fire Cadet program, youth sports program, and youth volunteer at the Calgary public library. The fourth student is a young mother transitioning from dropping out during COVID to earning her GED and pursuing a career in cosmetology to show her son that hard work and kindness pays off.
**2022:** No in-person event due to COVID. However, with the support of special people, we were able to fund one student pursuing a four-year Social Work degree at the University of Alberta.
**2021:** Supported three students—one in a four-year Graphic Arts degree program and two in two-year diploma programs (Culinary and Computer Technology). Each of them has faced challenges with anxiety or depression and, with the right support, has given back to their communities through volunteering and acts of kindness.
**2020:** We received 240 applications, each filled with emotion—both heartbreaking and inspiring. That year’s bursary was awarded to a young man with a passion for Graphic Arts who planned to attend ACAD. His teachers spoke highly of his kindness and dedication to inclusion, especially for students who struggled with making friends. He even created a buddy call system to ensure that anyone experiencing mental health challenges had someone to talk to. His story is a true reflection of Brianna’s legacy.
**2019:** The inaugural bursary was awarded to a graduate from Brianna’s class of 2019. She has graduated and gives her time on projects that bring harmony, peace, and love. The recipient stated once that, "I see it as disrespectful to link such a kind and beautiful soul, like Brianna's, to any sad thoughts because I know that she would always stop me in my tracks whenever I had a negative thought. Brianna would have taken on anyone else's pain if it meant that they would be happy. All she wanted was for everyone to feel satisfied with life. She removed my sadness, anger, confusion, and pain and brought me to a place where I felt loved. No one would have ever guessed that she had any negativity within herself because of her great ability to cheer others up. I hope that I have adopted this great skill of hers and that I am able to make my peers feel as loved as I did by her. As you know, I have been battling anxiety and depression my entire life. When Brianna passed away, I made a promise to myself that I would never let my mental state take over my mood, personality, schoolwork, or friendships. I believe that I am still working on myself and my own mental state, but that I am still growing and learning."
