Brian Hennen Inclusive Community Lecture

Dr. Brian Hennen (1937-2021) was a family doctor and a tireless supporter and advocatefor persons with disabilities, focusing on developmental disabilities.

In honour of the memory of Dr. Hennen, the Brian Hennen Inclusive Community Lecture Series was established in 2023 at Dalhousie University.

This year, the Brian Hennen Inclusive Community Lecture will be held on Monday November 4, 2024 from 7-9 pm at the Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB) at Dalhousie University. The theme this year is Living in Community is a Human Right.

The evening will include an opening lecture by Vince Calderhead about the groundbreaking and historic Emerald Hall human rights case against the Province of Nova Scotia. His address will set the stage for the My Home My Rights project participants, who will offer a first voice exploration of what it actually looks like to live in the community with appropriate supports and with human rights respected.

We have both online and in-person tickets available. If joining us in person, we will have refreshments available.
