Brewing Basics (V60 & French Press)

Better Coffee Starts with Better Brewing

At Blueprint, we believe great coffee doesn’t happen by accident. This hands-on brewing class introduces the fundamentals of brewing delicious, consistent coffee, whether at home or behind the bar. Students explore common brew methods, including pour-over and immersion, learning how each approach influences flavor and highlights a range of qualities in a coffee.

Through this guided workshop with kettles, scales, and brew equipment, attendees develop an understanding of important brewing variables such as grind, water temperature, brew time, and agitation, all leading to how they interact in order to influence the strength and extraction we are getting out of each cup.

Students brew, taste, and evaluate coffee while learning to read recipes, refine techniques, and troubleshoot common issues like under and over-extraction. The class also covers coffee freshness, proper storage and rotation providing participants with the practical knowledge and confidence to brew better as well as buy better coffee with greater consistency and confidence.
