Brett’s House Party is 100% improvised house music. Led by bassist Brett McConnell since 2017, the band features a unique sound of electronic drums, multiple synths, two basses, lap steel guitar, and the inimitable Aniana on vocals. BHP’s live show emulates a house DJ’s sets with nonstop music and minimal tempo variations. Every set is completely different, yet always relentless. Summer 2026 brought the release of their debut album, Hunker Down, which was followed by a large album release celebration at the Goodfoot. Brett’s House Party returns to our beloved basement for the first time since then for our first show of 2027, and will be keeping the party going after The Disco Biscuits’ show at Rev Hall. DJ Wicked has been a cornerstone of the Northwest hip-hop scene for over three decades. An authentic
all-vinyl DJ known for his technical skill, tasteful selections, and dedication to real hip-hop, he currently
holds the title of “Best DJ” in Willamette Week’s 2026 “Best of Portland” readers’ poll.
He has opened for major acts including the Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, and Outkast, and shared stages with
Grandmaster Flash, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Shadow, Mix Master Mike, Z-Trip, DJ Q-Bert, and others. His
career also includes high-profile festival appearances (North by Northwest, South by Southwest, and
international events), skate and action-sports industry gigs, and features on BET’s Master of the Mix.
Locally, Wicked is best known as the founder and host of Wicked Wednesdays, Portland’s longest-running
weekly hip-hop event (ongoing since 1997). He continues to host residencies and special events
throughout the Portland area while maintaining a reputation as one of the Northwest’s most consistent and
respected DJs.
