Brett Robins:
With unflinching candor & literary precision, Brett Robins reveals his perspective as a gay man with bipolar disorder through music that transforms tender ballads into soaring epic moments.
While his piano-based songwriting & soulful tenor remain constant, Brett’s ability to embrace a wide palette of soundscapes and emotions makes him a one-of-a-kind artist with comparisons to artists as diverse as Tori Amos, Trent Reznor & Rufus Wainwright.
Gleason was born in Long Island, New York where a speech impediment would lead to a childhood immersed in the arts. At 17, he moved to New York City to study music and literature at the New School University.
Now based in Los Angeles the multi-instrumentalist has produced 3 albums to critical acclaim as Brett Gleason. After embracing his middle name he will release his first single "Something Brand New’ as Brett Robins on June 18.
Siv Disa:
Siv Disa, Chinese-American alt-pop recording artist, announces release of new single ‘South Of France’, released 5/30/2024 with Blandishments Collective.
In "South of France," Siv Disa crafts a track that feels both timeless and raw, channeling the haunting allure of Nancy Sinatra and the poetic grit of Adrienne Lenker. Disa's vocals carry a vintage charm reminiscent of Sinatra, pulling listeners into the ether of her dreamy and surreal simulacra.
Her songwriting, like Lenker's, digs into the messy, beautiful complexities of longing and human connection, thus grounding the more surreal elements of the lyricism and production.
Recorded in collaboration with producer Sam Palmer, "South of France" is a standout in modern indie music. The track's lush, atmospheric soundscapes, from the melancholic strumming of the electric guitar to the ghostly whispers of an Ondes Martenot replica synth, create an atmosphere of retrofuturistic nostalgia. Disa's ability to blend these diverse elements into something so compelling and human makes "South of France" a track that sticks with you long after it's over.
