BrendaMade- Heartfelt ll. An Intimate Soap Perfumery Experience

Creating with intention and from the heart during this relaxing 1.5 hour natural soap scenting and decorating experience taking place in Herndon, Virginia. It's perfect for singles, friends and couples interested in learning how to curate a personal aromatic self-care experience without the use of synthetic fragrances, colors and additives. To serve as thoughtful gifts for yourself or someone special!

You’ll be guided by Brenda Brown an experienced artisan soap maker specialized in creating soaps using natural botanicals, oils and clays. And will experience an immersive demonstration on the art and science behind cold-process soap-making and basic perfumery. Cold-process is a traditional method of making soap that involves combining a strong base with fatty acids leading to a neutralization reaction called saponification, without the addition of heat.

You’ll get hands-on as you formulate a custom Valentine's blend using delicate essential oils and festive ingredients that inspire romance and a deeper appreciation and love for oneself. You’ll then decorate a visually charming mini-batch of cold-process soap using enchanting botanicals to match the spirit of your soap.

At the end, we’ll gather for an inspired heartfelt conversation on giving and receiving love.

Soap-making is not only an art and science, but can also be a therapeutic process. Our soap making classes are held with a maximum of 4 makers at a time. Their intimate size ensures that you’ll grasp all the informational steps at your own pace, in a relaxed environment and with room to connect with like-minded makers!

• Proper curing, unmolding, cutting and storage.

WHAT TO BRING:

You'll be provided with all the protective gear and materials needed for class. We just ask that you bring or wear a long sleeve shirt and closed-toed shoes.

WHAT COMES NEXT:

Shortly after purchasing your ticket(s) you’ll receive an email with a class waiver, location details, and additional information to get you ready for class! You’ll be able to reply to the email if you have questions.

MINIMUM AGE:

18 years. We’ll be using strong caustic lye which is designed for use by adults.

ABOUT BRENDA:

I have been crafting natural body care for 10 years and find the process to be a creative and therapeutic journey. Switching from commercial to natural soaps has been beneficial for my skin and well-being. However, I noticed that some naturally labeled soaps were made with synthetic fragrances, which overwhelmed my senses. I set out to create bars that were true to their natural scents and therapeutic. Essential oils can be adaptogenic and work with your nervous system to achieve overall balance in the body. They also smell amazing. I’ve faced some challenges and wins with using solely essential oils. I’ll provide my best advice to help you avoid some costly mistakes and give you the confidence you need to begin your truly natural soap-making journey!

REFUND POLICY

Your ticket reserves your class seat(s). Cancellation requests made at least 7 days in advance of class start are eligible for a partial refund. Requests made less than 7 days prior to the start of class can be rescheduled for a later available class date. No call/no shows are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
