This is a 2 day lecture and experiential demonstration of how to make, engage, and perform with a Welsh Mari Lwyd
two days required
Saturday Nov. 14th from 4:00-7:30pm and Sunday Nov. 15th from 1-4:30pm
MANDITORY: Please be available for both days.
Join artist and writer Tania Yager for an immersive exploration of the folklore and magic of the Welsh Mari Lwyd, guided by her book The Allure of Dark Winter Spirits.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will delve into the history, symbolism, and spiritual significance of the Mari Lwyd while discovering meaningful ways to build a personal connection with this winter spirit.
The workshop centers around a live demonstration of how to create a Mari Lwyd using a horse skull, with step-by-step instructions. Together the group will help The Mari Beast of Kitsap County.
Whether you are drawn to folklore, seasonal traditions, or spirit work, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Wales' most captivating winter customs through creativity, storytelling, and ritual.
