Based in Copenhagen, Brekete Sounds’ music is rooted in the Ghanaian Highlife music tradition. Their repertoire cuts across traditional Highlife music, Afro-pop, Afro-jazz, Afrobeat and "Palmwine Highlife" music. With Samuel Takyi in front, the band has been digging into the rich Ghanaian musical heritage, adding creativity to their original materials, making them relevant to contemporary musical forms that’s resonating and relieving, making you feel the beat and move your feet. You can’t stop dancing once they get going.
The night also features Dj Kipanga (ain't no sleeping on the roots) behind his sound desk lifting up a wave of amazing dancing tracks from his store and catalogue of African Music such as Afrobeat (classic) Afro boogie, kwaito house, Somali reggae, Makossa, Zouk, Congoles Rumba, Soukous and much more. He has previously played places like Rust, Søhesten, Bolsjen, Operaen, Jolene CPH, Søpavillon,Sigurdsgade,Alice Cph.and other venues around Cph .
