〜Body as Traditional Media〜
＜呼吸＞をテーマに芸術とテクノロジーの融合を追求すべく、1996年以来世界各地で断続的に活動してきた “Breathing Media Projects” が大阪万博を舞台に展開。海外より、米国在住ヴァイオリンの名手であり、MUGIC�の開発者である木村まり氏、コンピュータミュージックのメッカIRCAMパリ音響音楽研究所からSOMAX開発者ジェラルド・アサヤン氏、笙の全呼吸を用いるセンサーIBUKIの共同開発者である長嶋洋一氏を迎えます。さらに特別出演として弓馬術礼法小笠原流三十一世宗家嫡男小笠原清基氏、舞楽 伊藤光波子による伝統的な動作を援用した先端表現が舞台に展開します。武道、伝統芸能の身体性を拡張する先端技術との共創に乞うご期待！

"Breathing Media Projects," produced by Tamami Tono and active intermittently around the world since 1996, will take place at the Osaka Expo. The project explores the fusion of art and technology under the theme of "breathing."
Mari Kimura, a U.S.-based violinist and MUGIC® developer; Gerard Assayag, a SOMAX developer from IRCAM Paris, a mecca of computer music; and Yoichi Nagashima, the IBUKI sensor co-developer that uses the full breath of the shō (Japanese bamboo flute), will be invited from overseas.
The event will also feature special appearances by
Kiyomoto Ogasawara of Ogasawara Kyudo Archery and Minako Ito of Bugaku Danc will perform on stage.
Expect to see the co-creation of martial arts and traditional performing arts with cutting-edge technology!

〜呼吸する伝統〜
Breathing Media Projects〜The Matrix of Tradition, Science and Technology〜は、作曲家・笙演奏家である東野珠実が主宰し、＜呼吸＞を基盤として伝統文化、科学と技術の交点から未来を臨む取り組みとして、1996年から国内外で活動を展開しています。一千年の叡智を踏まえ、一千年先の未来に続く「心」を伝えるために――。
音楽はもとより、書道、武道、ダンスパフォーマンス、工芸に至るまで、人々の繰り出す技は、すべからく呼吸のもとにあります。そして、伝統文化未来共創プロジェクトThe Future in Tradition は、伝統の中にある未来を展望する取り組みです。大阪・関西万博におけるこのプログラムでは、「笙」という呼吸そのものを音楽と化すメディアを中心に、日本において千年の年月をかけて伝えられ、磨き抜かれた様々な分野の呼吸の技に注目します。また、先端技術を用いた呼吸の分析や表現方法の拡張、そして美しさと機能性を兼ね備えた楽器製作における最新技術も紹介します。これらを通じて、呼吸と共にある私たち人間の未来の姿を考えます。

"Breathing Media Projects: The Matrix of Tradition, Science, and Technology" is a project led by Tamami Tono, a composer and shō player. Since 1996, the project has been active in Japan and abroad, striving to face the future from the intersection of traditional culture, science, and technology based on "breathing."
From music to calligraphy, martial arts, dance performance, and crafts, the skills of people are all based on breathing. The Future in Tradition project is an initiative that looks to the future within tradition.
This program at the Osaka Expo will focus on the shō, a musical instrument with a history of more than 1,000 years in Japan. It is a medium that turns breathing into music. The program will also examine breathing techniques that have been passed down and refined in various fields over the millennium.
The program will analyze breath using cutting-edge technology, expand its expression, and explore the future of people's lives through breath. This exploration will touch on the cutting-edge technology used to produce musical instruments that celebrate the ultimate in functional beauty.
