The Franklin Method is a dynamic approach to movement that uses your mind to create lasting positive change in your body. It combines Dynamic Neuro-Cognitive Imagery and targeted exercises to promote efficient movement, effortless posture, and an embodied understanding of your own anatomy.
Breathing well is a fundamental skill for good health. Every breath you take can be free and nourishing! Explore how your diaphragm, abdominals, ribs and lungs coordinate to produce easy breath that will melt tension, improve movement in your neck and shoulders, and enrich your life.
Facilitator: Allison Birt
Allison is a PMA Certified Pilates instructor, Franklin Method Educator and a senior member of the Moving Spirit staff. After a series of injuries prompted her to reconsider a career in dance, Allison transformed her passion for movement as an art into a passion for movement as medicine. A perennial student, she has learned from many first-generation Pilates teachers. She brings her training as a Franklin Method Educator to all her movement work. She is adept at applying mental imagery techniques to embodied anatomy to create lasting positive change in the mind and body. She loves to collaborate with students to help them discover movement resolutions that will maximize their physical potential so they can move through their lives with as much ease and joy as possible.
