Sam is back! Teaching her favorite thing: the falling in love with, playing with, and observing… the breath! Come get acquainted with the subtleties of the inhale and exhale, and practice savoring the sensation of breathing.
We will use the system of Non-Dual Tantra as a basis for how the breath connects us to everything else. In NDT, everything arises as an actualization of the one true Infinity. Only one thing exists: the Divine, and everything is an important piece. The purpose of NDT is to evoke divinity in all the matters of our lives… to see the sacred that is being concealed and to spend more time in the remembering. The breath is the entry point to embody this truth, and to know this grace.
This workshop is part lecture & discussion, part practice & evocation.
In it we will:
-Discuss the breath through the lenses of human biology and physiology
-Examine the energetic components of the breath
-Explore both dynamic breathwork and passive breathwork, individually and in community
-Invoke a balance of solar and lunar (masculine and feminine) forces with a foundational Tantric breath practice (pranayama)
-Get to know the 3 powers of the Divine (willing, knowing, and acting) and what they have to do with the breath
-Embody the 5 actions of the Divine (creation, preservation, destruction, concealment, and revelation)
-Leave with handouts for home practice and notes to remember what in the heck just happened :)
The ability to control your breath is the ability to influence life force. Breathing is your superpower, knowing how to use it is your birthright.
*This offering takes an agnostic approach to divinity. Tantric philosophy is applicable to it all. Whatever your understanding of a Higher Power—whether you know it as religion, spirituality, science, love, mystery, Nature, cause and effect, or something else—it is respected here. Likewise, please plan to respect the differences in the experience of others.
