About this Event

Standing Tall Together will host an in-person community event on May 16 titled Breaking the Stigma, Strengthening Our Families.

This event is designed to raise awareness and foster open, affirming conversations about mental health within BIPOC single-parent and blended families, with a particular focus on children, youth, and caregivers across generations.

Through guest speakers and panel discussions, participants will explore how family structure, caregiving roles, systemic pressures, and developmental stages impact mental health and emotional well-being. The event will also highlight the strengths, resilience, and protective factors that exist within BIPOC families while challenging harmful stereotypes and stigma that continue to shape public narratives.
