About this Event
An interdisciplinary event exploring reproductive health from first period to menopause through art, research, and advocacy, tackling stigma and promoting equity for all.
Join us for an inspiring event that brings together artists, researchers, and advocates working to transform conversations around reproductive health. From first periods to menopause, we’ll explore the challenges, social stigmas, and systemic gaps that shape experiences across life stages.
The event will include an art exhibition by Wee Nuls and Deirdre Ní Cainmhire, offering powerful visual narratives on reproductive health.
The panel discussion includes leading voices:
Dr Sophie Doherty (The Open University) on tackling period poverty through the Free to Bleed project.
Dr Róise Connolly (The Open University) on the gender pain gap and human rights implications in diagnosis deprivation.
Katrina McDonell, founder of Menstruation Matters, advocating for menstrual equity.
The Rainbow Project, ensuring trans voices are part of the reproductive health conversation.
Dr Meghan Hoyt on the work of the Women’s Resource and Development Agency towards driving a Women’s Health Strategy for Northern Ireland.
Through creative expression and powerful conversation, we'll uncover how art, law, and activism intersect to challenge stigma, promote equity, and inspire change. By uniting diverse perspectives and expertise, this event aims to raise awareness and inspire action toward improved reproductive health care for everyone.
