The Sally and Howard Levin Clubhouse a program of The Branch presents: Breaking Down the Walls—an inclusive dance party graffiti style to heighten awareness of the stigma faced by people with mental illness.
The event will be held at the Energy Innovation Center on Thursday May 16 and includes a lively dance party with food drinks a DJ and a silent auction. Clubhouse members will present an engaging program to VIP sponsors telling personal stories of recovery and describing how their lives have been transformed by the support received at the Sally and Howard Levin Clubhouse. A photography exhibit that reflects members’ true selves and enhances their personal stories of recovery will be available for viewing at the event.
The Sally and Howard Levin Clubhouse located in Squirrel Hill is a place where adults with a mental illness come to work alongside others and build meaningful relationships that foster wellness and recovery. In the Clubhouse everyone is accepted as a valued individual; there is no stigma attached to having a mental illness.
The Sally and Howard Levin Clubhouse follows the Clubhouse International recovery model utilized in over 30 countries. Clubhouses offer people living with mental illness hope and opportunities to fulfill their full potential. Members of Clubhouses successfully participate in society through education employment and social activities.
