From backyard BBQs to holiday feasts Breaking Bread helps guide young people ages 8-16 on how to graciously navigate dining situations with confidence.
Hosted by Reach for the Stars ATX founder & lead educator Barbara Achilles Minardi Breaking Bread focuses less on outdated rules and more on mealtimes as a means to build community all while promoting self-restraint will power self-awareness and awareness of others. A healthy home-cooked 4-course meal is included at the end of the workshop so that participants will have the opportunity to "break bread" together.
Additional topics include:
- greetings
- proper table setting
- proper utensil usage in both the American and continental methods
- proper napkin usage
- soup bread and entree etiquettes
- casual buffets/bbqs to formal gatherings
- gracious guest guidelines
- customs around the world
Breaking Bread and other Reach for the Stars ATX workshops have been featured at the University of Texas Club The Club at Horseshoe Bay Resort Cimarron Hills Country Club The Hills of Lakeway Country Club and more and is a monthly offering at the esteemed Westwood Country Club.
Reach for the Stars ATX is a children's program focused on Character Education Modern Manners and Etiquette and Leadership Development and serves as an enrichment program within Lake Travis ISD and Dripping Springs ISD. Founder and lead educator Barbara Achilles Minardi has also been featured on the Positively Healthy Mom's Show and podcast and the Work Hard Smile Large podcast.
