About this Event

Breaking Bad Habits & Addictive Patterns
Guided Group Hypnosis in Downtown Toronto (to join virtually, please refer to the FAQ)

A guided group hypnosis session designed to help you interrupt automatic behaviour, reduce the pull of familiar urges, and strengthen your ability to choose what you do next.

Most unwanted habits do not continue because you consciously believe they are good for you. They continue because the behaviour has become familiar, automatic, or associated with relief, stimulation, comfort, or escape.

You may know exactly what you should do differently and still find yourself repeating the same pattern.

In this session, we use hypnosis to help create more distance between an impulse and your response—so that an urge, craving, or uncomfortable feeling does not automatically determine what happens next.

This session may be helpful if you want to change paterns such as:

  • Procrastination and avoidance
  • Compulsive scrolling or excessive phone use
  • Emotional or habitual eating
  • Sugar cravings and unnecessary snacking
  • Nail biting, skin picking, or similar repetitive habits
  • Impulsive spending
  • Staying up later than intended
  • Addictive substances
  • Repeatedly abandoning routines or personal commitments
  • Using distraction, stimulation, or comfort to avoid discomfort

You may attend with a specific habit in mind or simply explore a healthier and more intentional relationship with your behaviour.

What to Expect

The session begins with a brief introduction to how habits form and why willpower alone is often unreliable. Participants may suggest particular habits, triggers, or situations they would like addressed.

You will then be guided through a shared hypnosis experience centred on ideas such as:

  • An urge is an experience, not an instruction.
  • You can pause before an automatic behaviour begins.
  • Temporary discomfort does not require immediate relief.
  • You can tolerate a craving without acting on it.
  • The familiar choice is not necessarily the choice you truly want.
  • Repetition can make healthier responses increasingly natural.
  • You can act according to your longer-term interests, even when an easier option is immediately available.

The exact content varies according to the needs of the group, while the central purpose remains the same: helping you become less governed by automatic patterns and more capable of intentional choice.

Who Can Attend?

No previous experience with hypnosis is required. You may participate quietly, and you will not be required to disclose personal information to the group.

Each session stands on its own. You are welcome to attend once or return regularly to reinforce the ideas and practise applying them in different areas of your life.

This session is intended for everyday habits and behavioural patterns. It is not a substitute for medical care, supervised withdrawal, or specialized treatment for substance dependence.
