About this Event

Are you invested in the future of offshore wind and the skills required to drive it forward?

High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVM Catapult), represented by the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) and the National Composites Centre (NCC), along with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult), are conducting a panel session ahead of the UK Offshore Wind Supply Chain Spotlight event on 10 December 2024. Attendees can start the morning with a complimentary breakfast, followed by a dynamic discussion on how we are laying the foundation for a skilled workforce that will support a sustainable, resilient, and innovative offshore wind sector in the UK.

Why attend?

  • Understanding the skills value chain for offshore wind: Attendees will learn about the pioneering work of HVM Catapult in developing a skills value chain, which is critical for building a well-trained and capable workforce for the offshore wind sector.
  • Identifying skill gaps and challenges: The session will address the evolving skill needs within offshore wind, offering insights into the challenges and skill gaps that must be overcome to support industry growth.
  • Workforce foresighting for the future: Attendees will gain access to ORE Catapult and HVM Catapult workforce foresighting efforts, which predict the future skills requirements in offshore wind. This will help stakeholders align their training and recruitment efforts with emerging needs.
  • Insights into the national manufacturing workforce plan: Learn more about how HVM Catapult is developing a strategy for offshore wind, focusing on how to effectively grow and scale the sector. This session will outline the roadmap for implementing this plan and emphasise the importance of regional strategies in strengthening local economies while boosting the UK's position in the global wind industry.
  • Developing Regional Centres of Excellence: Learn how ORE Catapult, as a core partner in the Blyth-based Energy Central Campus, is helping create a £36m talent pipeline from education to employment for the offshore wind sector.
  • Networking opportunities: By attending, participants will be part of an important conversation shaping the future of offshore wind, giving them the chance to network with industry leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the sector.

Register today and don’t miss this opportunity to get involved in the skills conversation shaping the future of offshore wind.
