Is your starter sluggish, overly sour, unpredictable, or just plain confusing? This class focuses on understanding and improving starter health, so you can bake with more confidence and consistency.We’ll cover what a healthy starter looks, smells, and behaves like—and how feeding, flour, temperature, and timing all affect performance. The second half of the session will be dedicated to learning how to use discard in everyday recipes and an open Q&A on sourdough troubleshooting, where participants can bring questions, problems, and observations from their own baking experience.
Whether you’re nursing a new starter, reviving an old one, or trying to fix recurring loaf issues, this session will help you better understand what your starter is telling you—and how to respond. You will also leave with a collection of discard recipes to try at home!
