Welcome back to our last season for the ‘District Zouk - Brazuka Training Team’ 🔥Our 1st season earlier this year was a huge success and we are looking forward to doing it all again one more time!
We aim to create a learning experience for those who are passionate and serious with their learning. In this season, the team will meet over 8 weeks with 100-minute weekly sessions. Each class will be split into 3 modes: Solo, Partner work and Challenge. Below are some of the expectations and guidelines that we have carefully crafted in order to have the most transparency of the expectations and benefits.
Who is this Training Team for?
This team is aimed at dancers who:
- LOVE to dance and are looking for more opportunities to level-up;
- Have a desire to improve their skills through continuous learning, feedback, corrections and A LOT of repetition;
- Are able to share their time and growth with others;
- Will prioritize everyone’s growth as high as their own;
- Willing to motivate one another while lifting their collective results;
Values trust, understanding, connection, quality of movement, safety and inclusivity;
- Has the discipline to continuously invest time outside of the weekly training sessions for additional practice sessions, as well as, dedicated training in strength, endurance, control and flexibility and cross-training;

What to expect:
The audition will be a ‘workshop style’ session that’s similar to one of our team trainings. You'll get a sense of how the team works and whether it's a good fit.
WHO SHOULD AUDITION?
Alisson’s Brazuka Training Team is for dancers with extensive Brazilian Zouk knowledge (2+ years of serious training recommended, or equivalent) who have focus and dedication for improving skills. Here are some of the expectations we have for successful members:

Weekly Training:
Wednesdays from 8:50 pm - 10:30 pm
District Zouk (Dancesport Dupont Circle)
October 23rd until December 18th (no training on November 27th during Thanksgiving week)

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Alisson Sandi began his dance career at the age of 15 in São Paulo, Brazil, where he was born. Over the years he trained in Brazilian, Latin and International Ballroom dancing with Jaime Arôxa, Renata Peçanha, Alex de Carvalho, Rodrigo Delano, and others. In 2007, he joined the Juan Rando Dance Academy (JRDA) in Perth, Australia, and stayed in Australia through 2019 teaching in multiple cities and around the world. Alisson has held performances and workshops in over 41 countries, and holds titles including 2x Pro World Champion, 3x Australian Pro Champion, and Winner/Finalist of various BZDC All Stars/Champions Jack and Jill Comps. He is one of the the founders and the first choreographers of the International Zouk Flash Mob. He has also been an official judge for the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council since its first competition event. Alisson has a passion for teaching and is known for his attention to detail and effective instruction in dance techniques. Recently Alisson completed the 50-hour lambada certification course with Master Braz, and is looking forward to practicing and teaching more lambada and sharing it with the dancers and community here and in Washington, DC.
