The Brazos Valley Big Band was founded in 2023 by the late entrepreneur, jazz enthusiast and promoter Dick Phelps. It is the first-ever community-organized large jazz ensemble in Bryan/College Station, TX. The Brazos Valley Big Band was formed for the purpose of promoting and preserving the big band Jazz art form in the Bryan/College Station area, by producing local big band Jazz performances as well as by creating collaborative jazz performance opportunities for local adult jazz musicians in the B/CS community. Remember, the concert is FREE. An informal reception follows the performance.
