Get ready for a special training opportunity! Back by popular demand, we're doing another deep dive into Jack & Jill strategy and training. These social dance competitions are commonly offered at zouk festivals these days - you're paired with a random partner and dance to random music.
This intensive will not only help you to improve and enjoy your Jack & Jill experience, but also give you skills you can use in other performance-type environments. If you're planning to participate in the competition at Zouk Heat in April, this is the perfect way to get ready. If you're not sure if you plan to compete but are considering it, this is a great way to try it out.
For 5 weeks, you'll participate in guided practice with exercises to increase your creativity, adaptability, and musicality under pressure. Trainings will include mock jack & jill competitions. Both leads and follows will receive guidance on how to control the outcome of the dance, including areas of teamwork and collaboration.

PREREQUISITES
- No partner required. You sign up as a lead or a follow.
- Participants should be familiar with Brazilian zouk basics. For District Zouk students, we recommend you be at the Fundamentals level or above.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Elena has over eight years of experience in Jack & Jills as both a lead and a follow. She was the first person in BZDC history to progress to the All-Star level with no petitions and has several champion titles. Additionally, she is a BZDC-certified judge.
