Brazilian Zouk Followers's Club ( BZFC) - Fall SessionWelcome to the BZFC! In our classes, you will develop dance autonomy through clean and precise technique, learn styling possibilities, musicality, and how to add authentic Brazilian flavor to your dance. In this fall session, you will also learn a short choreography, and have the opportunity to perform at the Vancouver Zouk festival (performing is optional).
Sessions:
Tuesdays Sep 10 - Oct 22 (no class Oct 15) - 6 weeks
Tuesdays Oct 29 - Dec 10 (no class Nov 19) - 6 weeks
Tuition: $135 + GST ($141.75)
Location: The Dance Centre - 677 Davie St.
Meet your teacher:
Born in Rio, the land of Brazilian Zouk, Carla Naar has dedicated her life to the art of dance. Growing up, she dedicated herself to classical ballet and studied Brazilian folkloric dances and later Bellydance. In her teens, she started dancing professionally and teaching and creating choreography for her students. An award-winning international dancer and choreographer, as well as a very experienced performer, Carla is known for creating impactful choreographies for dancers of all levels. For the past seven years, Carla has been dedicated to studying Brazilian Zouk under the guidance of Rafael Oliveira and Izabel Ramos. Together with her partner Javi, they founded Zouk Vancouver Dance School, revitalizing the Zouk dance scene in Vancouver. Carla is also MAC-certified, and an official BZDC judge. Her main goal is to share Brazilian Zouk with students connecting technique, culture, and authentic flavor
