✨ About the teachers ✨
“William Wegert started his movement journey at the age of 7 when he was enrolled in a martial arts program. Three years later he received his first degree Black Belt, and at the age of 18, received his 4th degree Black Belt. Professionally trained to teach starting at the age of 8, teaching as a part time job at 14, and as a full time career at 16, William has taught thousands of hours of group and private lessons, to both children and adults. When he started in Bachata, he found himself learning to slow down and even breathe with his dance partners. Naturally finding his way into Zouk where it took over his entire world. Daily training for years and constantly seeking out the knowledge of others has led him to becoming an international Zouk instructor within 4 years of his journey. Now having taught in multiple countries and at many esteemed dance festivals in Brazil, William travels the world sharing his love and passion for dance. His two most important values within dance and teaching are growth and connection.”
“Xanne Mensinga has a background in theatre, performance art, and various dance styles, including Contemporary and Argentine Tango. Since 2018, she has dedicated herself to Brazilian Zouk. Last year, she traveled all over the world to teach dance. Her teaching combines technique with embodiment, guiding dancers to connect to movement from the inside out. She emphasizes softness, awareness, and playfulness, supporting dancers in developing both structure and personal expression. Alongside her work in zouk, Xanne is a social scientist. She focuses on how the arts, such as dance and theatre, can support mental health and wellbeing. She integrates somatic and conscious movement practices into her teaching.”
