Dawn’s personal journey into coaching and helping women began as a natural overflow of her own recovering, healing process from childhood sexual trauma. As a triumphant survivor, Dawn recalls that the keys to her healing were desire and determination. “I was hungry for wholeness. I desperately wanted to heal and I was determined not to go through life as a victim!”

Dawn became an ordained Minister with a special emphasis on trauma support and biblical counseling. She developed and worked as Director of Support and Healing Groups in a megachurch, serving hundreds of women overcoming abuse and trauma.

Dawn has also served as Executive Pastor of 3 organizations, including Lead Pastor of Tribes Church, a multi-ethnic endeavor in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“Over the last 25 years, Dawn’s profound leadership has led many women into freedom and healing. The founder of Lives of Value Conference (LOV Conference) a women’s empowerment conference, and The FreedomGirl Sisterhood, a healing and freedom weekend event. Dawn continues to create safe spaces for women to shed the past and step into their callings.

As an author, Dawn has 5-award winning books, including The Freedom Challenge: 60 Days to Untie the Cords that Bind You. A book designed to guide women into a life of victory and power. Dawn's book can be found and purchased through Amazon.

In 2018, Dawn became a Certified Life Coach and refocused her passion to help women get unstuck from average and reach for greatness.

Today, Dawn is the founder and CEO of the a transformational coaching and personal growth development enterprise designed to awaken and cultivate the vision of women-dreamers, calling them to braven-up and live their best lives.

Also known as the BraveHeart Mentor, Dawn is the creator and host of The BraveHearted Woman, a weekly podcast that encourages women to unleash their full potential to the world, by discovering the inner fortitude they need to make life transformations, so they can live a fulfilling life without regret. "When you find your Brave, you’ll live your DREAMS," says Dawn.

A conference of the same name—The BraveHearted Woman—made its debut in 2021.

Dawn’s signature online course, "Uncover Your Brave Vision: 90 Days to Unleash a Fulfilling Life" is changing women’s lives and is now available.

Dawn also has a rich and extensive history of radio and television. She serves as an authority on sexual abuse and trauma, Dawn is a regularly featured contributor to a San Francisco drive time talk show, featured in the nation’s 4th largest radio market: Life!Line with Craig Roberts, Northern California's longest-running and most widely listened to show of its kind. She also makes speaker appearances as the BraveHeart Mentor.

Dawn and her husband Paul Damon, currently reside in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area and have a full family of 5 children, and 11 grandchildren.
