In celebration of Scottish-American Heritage Month and Tartan Day on April 6th, the Alaskan Scottish Club is taking over the Bear Tooth for a showing of the award-winning film, Braveheart! Join us, April 2nd. Door Opens at 11:00 am
Show Starts at 11:30am
This won’t be just any showing of Braveheart, there will be plenty of good ol’ Scottish fun for everyone! Throw on a kilt and come dressed as a freedom fighting Scot and be entered into a special door prize contest. Enter the “Freedom” call or "Best Warrior Face Paint" contests for a chance to win free tickets to The Alaska Scottish Highland Games on June 24 and 25. There will also be some Historical Fact checking of this popular film. This event will assist the ASC by raising funds for future events and a scholarship fund.
Warrior Face Paint Contest
Paint your face like a true Scottish Warrior and be entered to win Alaska Scottish Highland Games Tickets and Schwag. We will be randomly selecting 10 Warrior Face Paint participants to take home the prizes.
Freedom Call Contest
Think you have what it takes to lead your countrymen and women into rebellion to free your homeland like Scottish Warrior William Wallace? Enter our Freedom Call contest! Contest is limited to the first 10 who sign-up. You will have 10 seconds to pump up the crowd to join you on your rebellion. The Scottish Warrior who hypes the crowd the most will take home a prize fit for a Champion! All contestants will walk away with thier heads held high and tickets to the 2023 Alaska Scottish Highland Games!
Since 1973, the Alaskan Scottish Club is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, has been celebrating and sharing the Scottish culture, heritage, and teachings to the people of Alaska. This is achieved through events throughout the year, such as The Alaska Scottish Highland Games, The Tartan Tourney, Burns Night Supper, St. Andrew’s Night to name a few. The ASC also has an Education Assistance Program. This Program encourages and assists interested applicants in developing an understanding, appreciation, and study of Scottish lore in music, sports, dancing, traditions, heritage, literature, and art by awarding Scholarships.
