Brave like Brayden Heart Walk

Wyoming 8th grader Brayden Otten—born with a heart defect—entered the Children’s Hospital on May 11th with the intention of going home that same evening after a routine procedure. However, due to complications from the procedure, Brayden went into heart failure. He was placed on the heart transplant list only to be de-listed due to acquiring a fungal infection in the hospital. A strong regimen of antifungals and antibiotics are fighting this infection, but the powerful drugs are stressing his body and now other organs are failing.

Brayden is fighting for his life.

“We need hope and a miracle to get Brayden home...Our family can’t understand why this happening and we also understand that others have had this kind of pain before, as well, and many are going through something similar right now...But we’re also too tired to try to make sense of this and we are just asking for any hope and prayer you can provide. The Wyoming community is gathering for a Heart Walk and Silent Auction on Saturday, August 13,10am - noon to show community support and raise funds for Brayden and the Otten family. All friends, neighbors, classmates, and Wyomingites are welcome and encouraged. In addition, a GoFundMe site has been set up for Brayden in order to help ease the financial strain of Brayden’s extended hospital stay.
