A National Park Volunteer-led walk from Bowness to the summit of Brant Fell (191m) with, weather permitting, stunning views over Windermere.
About this Event

Start point: Bowness Tourist Information Centre

Length: 4km (2.4miles) with 176m (575ft) of ascent

Time: 2.5 hours (approx.)

Walk grade: Easy (see grade description below)

An easy grade walk that begins with a steep ascent through Bowness following the Dales Way before emerging in the fields and fells above the town. The walk includes visits to the rocky summit of Brant Fell (at 191m one of Alfred Wainwright’s Outlying Fells) and the viewpoint of Post Knott. Paths are generally good but there are some sections that will be muddy and/or slippery in poor weather.

There are stiles on the route.

Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather. Weather permitting, we will be stopping for a short break on route so please bring refreshments if you wish.
