A doktori értekezésén alapuló könyv a divat, az építészet és a branding határterületeit kapcsolja össze. Esszéi a márkák térbeli és kulturális működését vizsgálják, esettanulmányokon keresztül mutatva be, miként válhat a divat értékteremtő és edukatív erővé – a metaterektől a kézzelfogható flagship store-okig. A kötet a kortárs értékalapú márkastratégia eszköztárát tárja fel a fenntarthatóság, technológiai innováció, művészeti kollaborációk és térhasználat metszéspontjában.

Kovács Adél trendkutató, divattervező, a Budapest Metropolitan Egyetem docense, a Divattervezés BA vezetője. Kutatási területe a háromdimenziós divatbranding, a divatmárkák aktivitásai fizikai és virtuális tereikben. A Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetemen szerzett mesterdiplomát 2012-ben, ismereteit a London College of Fashion férfiruha szakirányán gazdagította. A szabad művészetek doktora képzést a Pécsi Tudományegyetemen, a Breuer Marcell Doktori Iskolában végezte. 2022-ben elnyerte a Magyar Állami Eötvös Ösztöndíjat, amely keretében Mexikóvárosban kutatta a fúziós értékesítési tereket. Szakmai hátterét szintén Londonban kezdte építeni, Eudon Choi koreai divattervező mellett. Közel tíz évig volt a NUBU márka társ-kreatívigazgatója. Megalapította a Trendalgorithm trendkutató és design tanácsadó cégét, amely komplex gyakorlati és elméleti háttértudással támogatja vállalkozások brandfejlesztését.

How can branding respond to the challenges of a rapidly changing world? How can a fashion brand evolve into a true cultural institution—one that not only sells products but also conveys values? These are the core questions explored in Brandscaping Fashion, the new English-language essay collection by trend researcher and fashion designer Adél Kovács. The book launch will take place as part of Budapest Design Week at ISBN+ Book
Gallery.
Based on her doctoral research, the book weaves together the fields of fashion, architecture, and branding. Through a series of essays and case studies, it examines the spatial and cultural operations of brands, showing how fashion can become a vehicle for education and value creation—from abstract metaspaces to tangible flagship stores. The volume offers insight into contemporary value-based branding strategies at the intersection of sustainability, technological innovation, artistic collaboration, and spatial design.
The evening will be more than just a book launch—it will be a multisensory spatial experience. Guests can expect inspiring conversations, a pop-up exhibition, refreshing drinks, and great music.

Adél Kovács is a trend researcher, fashion designer and Associate Professor at Budapest Metropolitan University, and course director of the BA program in Fashion Design. Her research focuses on three-dimensional fashion branding and the activities of fashion brands within their physical and virtual spaces. She earned her master’s degree from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2012 and further enriched her expertise at the London College of Fashion, specializing in menswear. She pursued her doctoral studies in liberal arts at the University of Pécs, within the Marcell Breuer Doctoral School. In 2022, she was awarded the Hungarian State Eötvös Scholarship, which enabled her to research fusion retail spaces in Mexico City. She began building her professional experience in London, working with Korean designer Eudon Choi. For nearly a decade, she was co-creative director of the fashion brand NUBU. She is also the founder of Trendalgorithm, a trend research and design consultancy that supports brand development with a comprehensive blend of theoretical insight and practical experience.
