The Wednesday Club’s 144th Birthday Concert Series will present acclaimed American bass-baritone, Brandon Cedel, on Sunday, June 14 at 3:00 PM, at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 North 23rd Street, Camp Hill.
Cedel participated in Harrisburg’s Pine Street Presbyterian Church choir while attending Hershey High School. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute, the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, and was an ensemble member of Oper Frankfurt from 2016-2019.
Highlights from his 2025/26 season include notable performances at the Metropolitan Opera, the Atlanta Opera, and the Houston Grand Opera. Recent opera engagements feature a return to the Metropolitan Opera, as well as performances with various opera companies, including the English National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Des Moines Metro Opera, Canadian Opera Company, and in Germany with the Stuttgart Staatsoper, as well as in England with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
Collaborative pianist will be Susan Nowicki, a Curtis Institute faculty member since 1987 and a faculty member of the Dorothy Taubman Institute of Piano from 1997 to 2002. A member of the Network for New Music Ensemble, she has recorded contemporary music for numerous labels.
The program will include the music of Schumann’s Liederkreis, Op39, Jacques Ibert Don Quichotte songs, and a mix of American songs and Broadway ballads from popular composers.
