About this Event

Connected Voice Sector Connector, supports businesses that want to make a positive difference in their local community by connecting them to charities and community organisations that are looking for help. For voluntary and community organisations, Sector Connector offers the chance to benefit from in-kind support from local experts. This training is for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations serving Newcastle and/ or Gateshead.

If your organisation is a charity, voluntary organisation or community action group, there’s a pretty high likelihood that you may not think of it as a brand. Brands with a clear and powerful identity stand out, build communities and, in your case, create real change. But where do you begin? This 90-minute session will work through a series of creative exercises to develop the first draft of your brand strategy.

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Have the first draft of your brand book
  • Know how your brand strategy should feed into your marketing, communications and fundraising
  • A renewed focus on your big picture ‘why’ ahead of any year-end campaigning

This Sector Connector workshop is being delivered by Alex Fearon, Founder of Maybe Later and will be held at The Auditorium, Mea House, Ellison Place, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8XS

Our training is funded from a variety of sources and free to eligible organisations. Please check the eligibility requirements for each session before signing up, as this varies from course to course. If your organisation is not eligible for a free session you may be interested in one of our tailored training packages.

You can keep up to date with the latest training and events from Connected Voice by subscribing to our fortnightly email bulletin.

Delivery method This is an in-person training session taking place at MEA House. The session will include a mix of presentations and activities.

Accessibility Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility requirements that would help you get the most out of this session. We will do everything we can to accommodate them. We can provide a BSL interpreter for training and events on request, but ask you to give us enough advance notice to enable this to be organised. To maximise resources, we are unable to provide BSL interpreters for all sessions unless we know this is essential.

Evaluation This training session is free to attend but we ask that all participants complete a short evaluation on completion. This feedback enables us to continue delivering a free programme of training.

For security and practical reasons: You can only book one place for yourself, using the email address you use on the device you'll be using to participate in the online session. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. You must give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.

Attendance and substitution On registration, please put the session you have booked for into your diary. We expect people who have registered to prioritise attendance and to make every effort to attend.

If circumstances change, you must advise us as soon as possible so that the place isn’t wasted. You must also advise us if a substitute person from your organisation is attending in your place.

We will be monitoring non-attendance, and may not accept future bookings from regular non-attenders.
