About this Event
Open to DPS students only.
Digital Shift is a free digital marketing & communications support programme for local businesses run by LCC, funded by Southwark Council. It is designed to help businesses and organisations in Elephant & Castle and Walworth to thrive and ensure that Southwark’s town centres and high streets remain vibrant, thriving, accessible and safe spaces for the local community and beyond.
16 Digital Shift student placements are available for DPS students in Feb-March 2025. Students will gain valuable paid industry experience working with small businesses and community organisations on a range of creative marketing, media and communication projects. Organisations include local retailers, food outlets and charities. Placements will be of particular interest to students interested in applying their practice around social justice, local economy and place-based projects.
You’re invited to attend a special Brand Insights session to learn more about Digital Shift, the types of project you could be working on, find out how to apply and learn more about the eight organisations offering placements, including hearing from two local businesses MK Kids Interiors and Ripe Learning:
MK Kids Interiors is a multi-award winning London-based Child Wellness Design practice that creates personalised, colourful and fun bedrooms, playrooms, healthcare and educational spaces for children, run by founder and UAL alumni Medina King.
Ripe Learning support people in Walworth and Elephant & Castle to develop English Language, Maths, Digital and Essential workplace skills that will help them into further education, employment, career advancement and fulfilling community engagement in their personal lives.
