Brambles and Bumblebees | Invasive Removal & Bee Observation
About this Event
Join us at this hands-on stewardship session at Renfrew Community Park. We'll be removing invasive species like blackberry, buttercup, and bindweed to prepare the site for future native plantings. This work helps create space for a more diverse and resilient ecosystem to flourish. No experience is needed!
As we work, we'll also take time to learn about one of the park’s important residents: bumblebees. You'll get an introduction to local species, how to identify them, and insights into their nesting habits, life cycles, and the key role they play in pollination. This is a fun opportunity to connect with nature, support biodiversity, and leave with new knowledge about our buzzing friends.
Still Moon will provide all tools, gloves, and nets needed for the day!
