PhilaMOCA presents a special 30th Anniversary Screening of one of the most underseen and unsung horror films of the 1990s, John Flynn's (ROLLING THUNDER) 1994 classic BRAINSCAN!When Michael, a lonely horror-loving teenager (Edward Furlong), orders the latest interactive CD-ROM-based video game, the new high-tech wizardry penetrates his subconscious, where his darkest impulses lead him through a deadly maze of murder, deception and desire. Pursued by a homicide detective (Frank Langella) and guided along by "The Trickster" (T. Ryder Smith as the best of all Freddy rip-offs), Michael is torn between the worlds of good and evil, of reality and fantasy and, ultimately, life and death.
It's an interactive trip to hell filled with 1990s nostalgia and set in a suburban nightmare that will be familiar to many.
